“It’s campaign season, and my opponents, who are tied to MAGA Republican politics and corporate interests, are up to their old tricks again. Just like they did during the 2023 special interest-backed recall, they are spreading misinformation to try to confuse and dissuade voters in Santa Ana. They are producing unfounded attacks against me because they know I will always stand up for residents and the needs of our community, not them.

I want you to hear the truth from me. Here are the facts:

• The author of the negative, misinformed article circulating about me was authored by Matt Cunningham. This “author” has been bought and paid for by the special interests opposing my re-election, including the Santa Ana Police Officers Association (SAPOA). • Let me be clear to those who have read Cunningham’s hit piece against me: My attorneys have introduced a motion to dismiss these lies in their entirety. I have never been legally served papers about this lawsuit despite being a city Councilmember, and the plaintiffs knowingly misrepresented this to the judge. The first time I heard about this lawsuit was when it was published in a blog controlled by the same corrupt special interests spending $100K+ to influence Santa Ana’s elections. We look forward to seeing these baseless claims and lies dismissed and justice being served.

While some would rather promote false allegations about me, I will continue working tirelessly on behalf of our community to get things done that improve the lives of residents. The lies being spread by special interests will not deter me from serving the community that elected me in 2020 and voted to keep me in office during the corrupt recall of 2023.
